What is a Heat Engine?

Heat Engine is a Device which Converts heat energy into mechanical work. It takes in heat from a hot source, uses some of that energy to do work, and then releases the remaining heat to a cold sink.

                                                                   Example Four wheeler engine:

·        Four wheeler burns petrol (fuel)and  produces heat.

·         This heat is used to move the pistons or engine

·         Some heat goes out through the exhaust to atmosphere
